MR. MARTINS EVERETT
MR. MARTINS EVERETT When the “exclusive” night-club, bar, lounge and restaurant of BAR ONE (METRO PARK) opened for business some years back on the “high-brow” area of GRA, Ikeja. It was then ranked among one of the best in NAIJA. The reason, the “exquisite and classical” design of the interior and setting arrangement made it stand out. Ordinarily, one would have thought a foreigner designed and imported most of the stuffs used in the set-up. But alias, almost everything was done in NAIJA by a “naija” named MARTINS EVERETT. Schooled abroad as a “graphics designer” Mr. Martins Everett is the MD/CEO of X.O DESIGNS. In the last twenty years has been involved in the designing and setting up of homes and interiors of “eminent dignitaries, celebrities, top government functionaries, companies” etc. Martins Everett also had his hands in the making of “animations adverts” for media agencies and musical videos for A-grade artistes in “naija”. TV REALITY SHOW such as the very successful “STAR QUEST and MALTINA DANCE” has the ‘artistic director’ hand of Martins Everett. Recently, at a world class event put together by UP,CLOSE and PERSONAL, held at the very prestigious EKO HOTELS and SUITES that features international and award winning musical arts as “Bryan McKnight, Caron Wheeler, Evelyn-King and host of others, Martins Everett designed and built the “PERFORMING STAGE” that got everyone talking including the artiste themselves. It must be ‘stressed’ at this point that this is not the first time that Martins Everett has been involved in international standard stage design and building. Lest we forget, Mr. Martins Everett designed partly the most celebrated ‘hang-out’ in Ikeja “LA CACHETTE”. We in ikedenaija “CELEBRATE THE EXTREME CREATIVITY” of Martins Everett that has brought us ‘world-class standard’.
OLUSOJI FASUBA (4 x 4)
OLUSOJI FASUBA. On the 7th of March 2008, in the city of Valencia, Spain at the 12th IAAF WORLD INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIP a “NIGERIAN” wrote the country’s name in the “history book of sports in specific ATLETHICS”. The naijan is OLUSOJI FASUBA. Fasuba became the “world-king” of athletics after he ‘contended with and out-run’ world class “sprinters” such as “Dwain Chambers (UK), Kim Collins, Michael Rogers (USA)" and the rest. One of the greatest doings of the ‘sprinter’ is his “consistent and impressive” TIMING FORM that he maintained before, during and till the final race. It should however be mentioned here that OLUSOJI FASUBA had competed in two previous editions of the championship without achieving this feat. However, his “individual and unrelenting effort” eventually paid off as OLUSOJI FASUBA did not give up the ‘TRUE NAIJA SPIRIT’ in him by becoming the first “Naija nay African” to ever win an indoor championship since the history of the event. Before now, speculations have it that King Fasuba is contemplating dumping naija for other nationalities just because of the attitude of our ‘sports administrators’ who pay very little attention to our athletes but with this “outstanding victory” we hope our ADMINISTRATORS will turn new leaf and FASUBA will keep his ‘origin’ NAIJA. Ikedenaija and naijas world-over hail the new King Fasuba and the true “naija spirit and tenacity” in him.
SAMUEL "NIGHTMARE" PETERS

SAMUEL ‘NIGERIAN NIGHTMARE’ PETERS For the second time in successive edition, this “true and great naija heroe” is featuring in our “NAIJA OF THE MONTH”. Samuel Peters read and took to our advice of “keep punching” in the last edition where ikedenaija celebrated and featured him as “the interim heavy-weight champion of the world". But today the “title story” has changed. The “PUGILIST” is no longer the ‘interim’ but the confirmed “undisputed” WBC HEAVY-WEIGHT BOXING CHAMPION OF THE WORLD. The 28 year old Akwa-Ibom born ‘naija nightmare’ confirmed this in the wee hours of Sunday the 9th of march in Cancun, Mexico venue of the title fight when in the sixth round he TECHNICALY KNOCKED-OUT formal champion Oleg Maskaev of Russia. This ‘victory’ goes a long way to prove “critics” wrong that our own “naija nightmare” first title victory back in October 2007 was not a “fluke” as SAMUEL PETERS “punched” his opponent (Oleg Maskaev) thirteen (13) “unreplied” punches for the victory to be “CERTAINED” “I HIT HIM(MASKAEV) WITH ONE AND I HIT HIM WITH ANOTHER.THEN I CRACKED HIM UP. MY JAB WAS GOOD AND THEN I HIT HIM IN THE HEAD AND BREAK OFF HIS HEAD. I KNEW HE WAS STRONG SO I WAS CAREFUL. I FEEL GREAT. I COULD FIGHT AGAIN TOMORROW. I’M READY FOR ANYONE…….”excerpts from Samuel Peters post fight speech.
